We all deserve to thrive in our city, but so many of us are struggling.

Across our city, there are growing crises in housing, health, poverty, safety and climate. We need and deserve better - and the solutions are possible.

With a new term of City Council just beginning, this is our opportunity to come together and demand better. If we raise our voices together, we can spark bold change and push leaders at City Hall to take action that leads to real change.

Join us in demanding a better Toronto and call on Toronto’s new City Council to:

  • Uphold and fulfill commitments to truth and reconciliation
  • Fulfill commitments to advance racial and gender justice, disability rights, and end inequality
  • Open up and deepen our democratic processes
  • Ensure good jobs and strengthen community wealth
  • Fix the housing crisis and guarantee housing for all
  • Take new approaches to keep communities safe and well
  • Improve access to community services, programs, and space
  • Connect residents across the city with good transit and internet access
  • Make Toronto neighbourhoods green, healthy, and climate-safe

ABOUT THE CITY FOR ALL PLATFORM

A City for All must be grounded in truth, reconciliation, justice and equality. It must be grounded in a more equitable and accessible city that is affordable, liveable, safe, and prosperous for all. And it must be grounded in democratic processes and priorities that are shaped by communities.

The calls to action and policy demands in this platform are not exhaustive but are intended as a starting point for a platform for the new term of City Council to begin addressing the growing crises in health, poverty, housing, safety, and climate across the city. This list will be updated and changed to reflect the feedback, priorities and concerns of our partners and the communities we work with and for.

Toronto City Council approved its first Reconciliation Action Plan informed by extensive consultation with First Nations, Inuit and Métis community members, organizations, Elders, Knowledge Carriers, and youth. As a first, key step towards a city for all, we call on City Council to uphold, prioritize and fully fund the commitments made in this plan in the next term of Council.
